There are different configurations selected by both industry and academia as the drivetrain for wind turbines in power range of 10 to 16 MW. The choice system influences levelized cost energy, and, become larger, therefore, costlier, there is more potential optimization critical systems, like drivetrain. latter motivates utilization a life cycle assessment approach profoundly influence technology such that it offers better compromise between aspects cycle. To this end, paper, various permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based technologies 15 MW bottom-fixed floating offshore turbine applications designed compared. under investigation based on direct-drive, medium- high-speed generators. conceptual design three consideration investigated pros cons each assessed explained looking, simultaneously, into design, manufacturing, operation maintenance.
